The Custom Wig Experience
What makes Rissa Red Studios different?
Rissa Red Studios specializes in custom-fit, completely glueless wigs made to your individual measurements. Each wig is machine-sewn on a breathable mesh cap using premium hair and customized for a secure, natural-looking fit—without glue or a complicated installation.
Do I need a consultation before purchasing?
Consultations are optional before purchase, but highly recommended for first-time clients. A consultation is available with every purchase and can take place in-person or virtually.
How long does it take to receive my wig?
Custom wig orders have a turnaround time of approximately 12–14 business days. Turnaround begins once all required order details, measurements, and design selections have been received. Business days do not include weekends or holidays.
If you are ordering for a specific event or date, please order accordingly.
Do you offer rush orders?
Rush availability varies by service and is not guaranteed. If you need your wig or service completed by a specific date, please contact Rissa Red Studios before purchasing to confirm availability. Additional rush fees may apply.
Rush processing is not available for wig drop orders.
Are Rissa Red wigs completely glueless?
Yes. Rissa Red custom wigs are designed to be worn without adhesive. The custom fit, cap construction and secure design allow you to put on and remove your wig without relying on glue for everyday wear.
What's included with a custom wig purchase?
Every Rissa Red custom wig is created specifically for you, but the exact hair, lace, construction details, and included services may vary depending on the wig or service you select.
All custom wigs include measurement-based construction, customized lace and hairline, professional styling, and a finished glueless fit designed for easy at-home wear.
Hair type, texture, length, lace size, number of bundles, and other specifications are listed on the individual product or service page. Please review the full description before purchasing.
Are all custom wigs made the same way?
While every Rissa Red wig follows our custom-fit construction process, hair specifications and design details vary by wig and collection. Length, texture, color, lace size, density, and other features will be clearly listed in the product description before purchase.

Do I need a stylist to install my wig?
No. Your custom wig is designed for convenient glueless wear at home. Once your wig is properly positioned and adjusted, no salon installation or adhesive is required.
Are Rissa Red wigs premade or made to order?
All Rissa Red wigs are made to order and custom fit to your individual measurements. Once completed, your wig arrives customized and styled for easy, glueless wear—no salon installation required.
Fit & Measurements
How are my measurements taken?
Six head measurements are required to create your custom fit. Measurements can be taken professionally during an in-person consultation or submitted by you using our Head Measurement Guide.
When measuring, your hair should be styled as flat as possible to accurately represent how it will be worn underneath your wig.
What if I submit my own measurements?
Clients who submit their own measurements are responsible for ensuring all measurements are accurate. Your wig will be constructed according to the measurements provided at checkout.
If you're unsure about measuring yourself, we strongly recommend booking a consultation before ordering.
What if my wig doesn’t fit?
If your measurements were professionally taken by Rissa Red Studios and you experience a fit issue, please contact us so the fit can be assessed.
If you submitted your own measurements and the wig was constructed according to those measurements, any necessary fit adjustments may require an additional fee.
Can I order if I don't know how to measure my head?
Absolutely. If you're uncomfortable taking your own measurements, book an in-person or virtual consultation and your six required measurements can be professionally taken for you.
Pricing & Payments
Why are custom wigs more expensive?
A Rissa Red custom wig is created specifically for you rather than mass-produced using a standard cap size. Your investment includes premium hair, HD lace, machine-sewn construction, a breathable mesh cap, customized hairline and styling, and construction based on your individual measurements.
You're investing in craftsmanship, longevity, convenience, and most importantly—a wig designed to actually fit.
What is your refund and exchange policy?
All custom wig purchases are final sale and are not eligible for refunds or exchanges due to the personalized nature of each order. Each wig is constructed specifically to the measurements and customization selections provided for that client.
Please review your order details and measurements carefully before submitting your order.
Is my consultation fee applied toward my wig purchase?
Yes. Your $50 consultation fee will be applied toward your custom wig purchase when you move forward with an eligible custom wig order.
The consultation fee is non-refundable and is only credited toward a qualifying purchase after the consultation has been completed. It has no cash value and cannot be transferred to another person.
Wig Services
What is wig reconstruction?
Wig Reconstruction is designed for wigs that may be bulky, poorly constructed, or no longer fit properly. Your existing wig is removed from its original cap and reconstructed on a new cap using your measurements—essentially allowing your wig to be rebuilt to fit.
Can all wigs be reconstructed?
Not every wig is a candidate for reconstruction. The hair and lace must be in reusable condition before reconstruction can begin. Each wig is assessed to determine whether reconstruction is recommended.
Do you offer lace repairs?
Minor lace repairs may be possible depending on the condition of the lace. Severely damaged or balding lace may require replacement. Your wig must be assessed before the appropriate service can be recommended.
Appointments & Scheduling
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. Rissa Red Studios operates by appointment only. Please book your appointment online before visiting the studio.
Where are you located?
Rissa Red Studios is located in Oak Lawn, Illinois. All in-person services are by appointment only. Complete location and arrival instructions are provided with your appointment confirmation.
What happens if I’m late?
Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule to avoid impacting the next client's appointment. Applicable fees may apply.
What is your cancellation policy?
Consultation fees are non-refundable and reserve dedicated time for your appointment.
If you are unable to attend your scheduled consultation, you may reschedule your appointment one time with at least 24 hours' notice, and your original consultation fee will be transferred to your new appointment. The rescheduled consultation must take place within 30 days of the original appointment date.
Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 24 hours' notice, missed appointments, and no-shows will result in the consultation fee being forfeited. A new consultation fee will be required to book another appointment.
If Rissa Red Studios must cancel your appointment, you will have the option to reschedule and transfer your consultation fee or receive a refund.
Care & Maintenance
How long will my wig last?
With proper care and maintenance, a high-quality custom wig can last for years. Longevity depends on how frequently the wig is worn, heat styling, chemical processing, maintenance, and at-home care.
Do you offer maintenance services?
Yes. Wig maintenance services are available to help refresh and extend the life of your unit, including cleansing, conditioning and restyling. Wig reconstruction is available separately for qualifying units that need to be rebuilt.
How often should I service my wig?
Maintenance frequency depends on how often you wear your wig, your styling routine, and product buildup. Clients who wear their wig frequently may benefit from professional maintenance every few weeks, while occasional wearers may need service less often.
