HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HEAD FOR A CUSTOM WIG
A Size Is Not a Head Shape.
Every Rissa Red custom wig is constructed using your individual head measurements—not a standard Small, Medium, or Large cap size.
To create your custom fit, all 6 measurements are required.
Taking accurate measurements is one of the most important steps in the custom wig process. Follow this guide carefully and take your time. If you're unsure about your measurements, you can always book an in-person consultation for professional assistance.
BEFORE YOU MEASURE
For the most accurate results:
Use a soft measuring tape.
Do not use a ruler, retractable construction tape, string, or other rigid measuring tool.
Prepare your hair the way it will be worn underneath your wig.
Your natural hair should be braided down or styled as flat as possible.
Do not measure over bulky hairstyles, ponytails, buns, or loose hair.
Keep the measuring tape flat against your head.
The tape should be secure without pulling or squeezing your head.
Measure in inches.
Take every measurement twice.
If you get two different numbers, measure again before submitting your final measurement.

01 — CIRCUMFERENCE
Place the measuring tape at your natural front hairline.
Bring the tape around your head, positioning it just above your ears, around the back of your head at the nape, and back to your starting point.
Make sure the tape lies flat against your head and follows your natural hairline.
Record your measurement in inches.
PRO TIP: Don't pull the tape extra tight to try to create a more secure wig fit. Your wig will be constructed based on the number you provide.
02 — FRONT TO NAPE
Place the measuring tape at the center of your natural front hairline.
Bring the tape straight over the top and center of your head until you reach the nape of your neck.
Keep the tape centered and flat against your head from beginning to end.
Record your measurement in inches.
03 — EAR TO EAR ACROSS FOREHEAD
Place the measuring tape at the hairline directly in front of one ear.
Bring the tape across your forehead, following your natural front hairline, until you reach the same point in front of the opposite ear.
Do not place the tape across the middle of your forehead. It should follow the shape of your natural hairline.
Record your measurement in inches.
04 — EAR TO EAR OVER TOP
Place the measuring tape at the hairline directly above one ear.
Bring the tape across the top of your head to the same point above the opposite ear.
The tape should travel over the crown of your head rather than toward the front or back.
Record your measurement in inches.
05 — TEMPLE TO TEMPLE AROUND BACK
Place the measuring tape at one temple.
Bring the tape around the back of your head, following the natural shape of your head, until you reach the opposite temple.
Keep the tape flat and level as it travels around the back of your head.
Record your measurement in inches.
06 — NAPE OF NECK
Place the measuring tape at one side of your natural nape hairline.
Measure across the width of your nape to the opposite side of your natural nape hairline.
Do not extend the measurement behind your ears.
Record your measurement in inches.
BEFORE YOU SUBMIT YOUR MEASUREMENTS
Double-check all six measurements before submitting them.
✓ My hair was braided or styled as flat as possible.
✓ I used a soft measuring tape.
✓ I measured in inches.
✓ I took each measurement at least twice.
✓ The measuring tape was secure but not pulled tightly.
✓ I have provided a number for all six measurements.

Your Rissa Red wig is custom constructed using the actual measurements you provide. Standard wig sizes do not account for the individual shape and proportions of your head.

Clients who choose to submit their own measurements are responsible for ensuring that all measurements are accurate.
Your custom wig will be constructed according to the measurements you provide. If a fit adjustment is needed because inaccurate measurements were submitted, additional adjustment or reconstruction fees may apply.
